Beer

I won a door prize at a company (fire dept.) Christmas party. It had in it an OSU bottle huggy, an OSU bath sponge and 4-pack of Bud Light. Now I don't drink that often but that Bud Light sure is good. I am on the fourth one and feeling pretty good. I should drink more often, my nose is numb. This stuff isn't too bad.

All jokes aside (and the beer buzz), it has been a strange year at the fire house. A few wins and a few well, I did my best kind of things. This weekend has been silent across the board for us. A bit of a change from last weekend where we pulled a body from the creek after a car went off the road. A full arrest and a few band aid runs, thats been this week. But the sad part is next year will yield a whole new set of fires, auto accidents and medical emergencies. People take for granted what we do. They call us "just volunteers" when in fact the general public will never know how dedicated these fine young men and women are. They are the best, the best firefighters and EMTs around.

We are not "just volunteers."
