Caution! Indigenous Nudity

I think I found my favorite phrase for 2007. "Indigenous nudity."

I saw it for the first time while watching the show "Tribes" on The Travel Channel. This phrase, of course, warns viewers that they may catch a glimpse of old tribe lady breast.

Some research into the phrase, however, has proven that I am just behind the times. It has been around for a few years and a number of bloggers have already made their comments.

My favorite was this blog. A very thorough discussion of the topic it is.

And there's even a band called "Indigenous Nudity" in Florida. That is a genius band name. Who would not want to see a band with "nudity" in the title. It worked for Barenaked Ladies!

But is it really necessary to warn people that they may see on their television what has been readily available in the pages of National Geographic for years? Are there really still people in the U.S. who would see a bare, sagging boob on the tube and be offended?
