How does a hunter accidentally shoot another hunter, mistaking him for a deer?
In this story, a hunter is walking through the woods, apparently sees some movement and shoots. Only it wasn't a deer, it was two other hunters and one of them was shot dead.
I'll admit, I'm not an avid hunter. In fact, I haven't been hunting in years. But I have been hunting. And as I recall, one of the things you need to be able to do, is see an animal in order to shoot it.
So how on earth do you mistake a guy walking through the woods for a deer? It shouldn't matter whether or not they are wearing blaze orange and a flashing beacon on top their heads. Granted it was the last day of the season and the hunter was probably desperate, you have to be pretty stupid to make that kind of mistake.
And yet it happens all the time. This is the fourth one in my area this year.
