As I said in my first post, even if you throw away 3/4 of the 6.5 million number you still have one hell of a lot of death. Remember my argument about US citizens going to China to adopt because it is easier? The LAWS here in America prevent adoption and encourage abortion. Why? Because it is easier to abort than to adopt.
"By saying that it is a moral issue, I mean it is a personal moral issue." So here we are again, making up the rules as we go along. So when you want something to be a moral issue, it all depends on your moral perception not a set of national standards. I guess you can pick and choose your morals, is that what you are saying? So if I want to hang a Nazi flag in front of my house and post a sign that says all Jews must die, thats OK Because it fits my morals? That is a great way to unify a nation! Yes I am free to do that but that doesn't make it right. That makes Hitler a man of good morals because he brought his country out of an economic depression and unified the people.
The death penalty is only used when a person gives up his or her rights by committing a capital offense. When he or she commits this kind of offense they are given a fair trial and given the right for a just defense and several chances for appeal. Unborn children are not even given a chance for any kind of defense or a voice in their own demise. Thus making it murder. In some states if you murder a woman with a child on board that person is charged with double homicide. That is LAW, man's law, not God's law. If the US court system recognizes an unborn fetus as a human life and is punishable as a capital offense, does that not make abortion murder? I guess that is only in states where the LAW is of higher morals.
"The problem with conservatives is just this, "good morals." Whose to judge what are good morals?" Look at all the lies that Liberals tell, Al Gore inventing the internet, Hillary getting shot at and the death of the pregnant Ohio woman, Bill Clinton NOT having sexual relations with that woman, Global warming, to tell a lie is not of high morals. But the Liberals are so power hungry they keep telling lie after lie after lie, for their own benefit.
The USA hasn't been a free country for years, we are only free to do what the government tells us we can do (thanks to Liberal leaders). The Liberals support and practice big government while the conservatives keep government out of the private sector as much as possible. Take gun control, all Liberal law not conservative, now how is that freedom? That is just one issue among many, I could go on forever.
Every time a Liberal writes and passes a law, we lose a freedom. Look at the Liberal track record. You have your parties mixed up, pal.
Don't forget the assault weapons ban, most crimes committed with a firearm are done with dime-store pistols. So what did the Liberals do, ban assault rifles. Now how free is that and how smart is that?
OK, I can't go on with more posts. So here's a comment.
ReplyDeleteAdoption v. Abortion: Yes, people go to China to adopt babies. Maybe the laws here are restrictive. But one big reason people do it is because babies up for adoption here in the U.S. are often from mothers who used drugs during the pregnancy. That can cause all kinds of trouble with kids as they get older. Remember the bit about the crime rate dropping after abortion was legalized? In China, that is not the case. They get rid of babies only because they are female, which is not desirable in China. The laws here may make it harder for someone to adopt a baby, but they do not make it harder for a woman to give up a baby for adoption. Two entirely different things.
Of course we can make up our own mind about our morals, beliefs, etc. Yes, you should be able to choose your own morals so long as they don't infringe on some other "person's" rights. The last thing we need is a national standard for morals. That is what Hitler did. But if you decide to hang a sign out in your yard promoting another holocaust, that violates other people's rights. See what I'm saying, so long as your morals, beliefs, etc. don't violate someone else's rights.
So we can give up our rights by committing a capital offense? Is that in the Bible?
You are mixing up your definitions. A fetus and an unborn child are two different things according to the law. If you kill a mother with an "unborn child," yes, that is double homicide. It would also be against the law to abort that same unborn child. If you kill a mother carrying a fetus, well that's a different story.
And so the legal system is infallible in death sentence cases? They've never made a mistake and killed the wrong guy? Who would you want to judge you if you were wrongfully accused and on death row? A judge and jury or God?
Sure, liberals lie. Politicians in general lie. All of them. Liberal, conservative and everything in between. They are people, politicians. Just like criminals, the good ones just don't get caught as often.
So you're saying we don't have enough freedom to do what we please, but at the same time you want the government to regulate our morals? You need more regulation?
Liberals create big government? I you might be surprised to see the current conservative administration has one of the biggest governments in history. Here's an old but relevant article.
