I did notice I started to get dehydrated a bit. Being close to 300lbs I wasn't feeling too well by midday. But we kept plugging away. I spent a lot of time riding by myself on day two. I just couldn't keep pace with the other guys. Every ten miles they would have to stop and wait for me. I felt kind of bad they had to slow up so much but at least we were still advancing toward the finish line.
We slid into a crappy gas station to get some extra (clean) water and a snack. I did feel some relief from the junk foodI found on the store shelves. We stopped again later that day, I can't even remember the name of the town we stopped. There we got an ice cream and some more water before heading to our camp for the night. Before getting the ice cream I had started to feel really really bad but tried my best to hide it. I had just about had enough but again we hacked away at the miles to put us closer to our goal.
At the end of day two I was done. After getting a cold MRE in me and another bath in the river, it was time for bed. It was great to finally get some much needed rest.
But wait! We camped right next to a busy railway and there were passenger trains running through there ALL NIGHT LONG!!!!! For God's sakes!
So began day three, slightly ahead of the game with with only 50 miles to go and again no sleep!
