With only a few days left before our epic journey, I had to get out and stretch my legs. So once again Randy and I hit the trail, only to encounter several obstacles. I didn't expect the rains we had to have made such a mess of our little trail but it seems I was wrong. The first 10 miles went off without a hitch, but as soon as we hit the middle of our circle we ran into downed trees and high waters. That wasn't enough to stop our progress. A few downed trees and some high water are nothing for seasoned pros like us.
What did get me was the heat. To be honest I had my back side handed to me. It was like 92 and humid. By the time we did our 22 mile circle in 2 hours and 10 minutes, I was about to die! I was a little disappointed in myself. It took 30 minutes and 4 glasses of cold water to recover from the heat. The forecast for our trip is in the mid 80's and 60% chance of rain the first day. I would rather have the rain than the heat.
