Sick!

I'm sick! I'm DYING over here! Well, not really, but I feel like it. I've got a bad head cold or the flu or something.

So in my sickened state, I was watching TV and saw a Discover Credit Card commercial. You want to talk about sick!

The commercial starts out by saying "We are a nation of consumers, and there's nothing wrong with that."

They go on to say you can consume all you want as long as you can afford it and with Discover, you CAN afford it!

This is absolutely sick!

This blind consumerism is what is destroying our planet and the American way of life. So yes, there is something really wrong with the fact that we are a nation of consumers.

We're no longer concerned with family and our children while we strive to consume, buying the latest, mindless consumer trends.

And in an age when most companies are striving to look more "green," why on Earth would Discover try to promote the exact opposite? That's one amazing nut sack!

Speaking of nut sacks, there was this commercial on TV for True North nuts. They come in a foil sack.

Several weeks ago, they ran a commercial that showed various nuts falling over like dominoes and at the end reaching the sack. The voice-over person said "an extraordinary nut snack."

But it didn't sound like "nut snack." It sounded more like "nut sack." Which yes, they do come in a sack and they are nuts. And they do say they added a touch of sweetness... But is that appropriate?

Today I noticed they changed the commercial to say "an extraordinary snack."

Hilarious! See for yourself, here's the commercial...

And I'm not the only one who thought they said nutsack. There are hundreds of these on YouTube.
