LHC a Waste of Money?

UN report

“Cows Not Cars, are the Top Threat to Our Environment.”

Depending on where you get the story from, the Large Hadron Collider (LHC)is a billion dollar waste of money. Some skeptics say the LHC will not find the Higgs Boson, also known as the "God Particle." Some say the money spent (again depending on the source 8 to 10 billion dollars) could have been spent on something that would better mankind. It is said finding the origin of the universe just isn't that important.

So I had to think about this for a moment. If I had 8 to 10 billion dollars to waste what would I do with it. Well here are the options.

#1 End world hunger
#2 Cure cancer
#3 Cure obesity
#4 Invest in find new energy sources
#5 Invent the perfect eco car Hybrid
#6 Cure HIV
#7 buy an island
#8 Build a weapon to kill millions without any left over radiation
#9 Find Jimmy Hoffa
#10 Buy lots of Porn

Now there are ten better things to spend 8-10 billion dollars on. I guess those scientist are not interested in ending world suffering or porn. Kind of selfish isn't it?

How could a group of people with such high moral standards over look the starving people of the world? That's right, these are the people that don't believe in God. Atheists and their so called moral values.

Just goes to show you, even the smartest of people can do dumb things. What are they going to do when they discover the so called birth of the universe? Cover in the LHC and turn it into a land fill. Now that's a great way to spend money. Just out of curiosity, I wonder how much energy this thing sucks in? The power used must be large. Look at all the lights needed to span the 17 mile circle. The power needed for the controls and not to mention the pollution put out by building it. These are the same assholes that are telling me not to eat meat and stop driving my car.

I am all for experimentation but this thing isn't going to provide any useful technology until next year sometime. After a few thousand people around the world starve to death and energy costs punch the middle class into the poor house.

Building the LHC is like buying a luxury boat when your work car is broke down.

Was it worth it, NO.

  1. Whoa! Mr. Liberal. Shouldn't those poor starving people find their own jobs and pay their own way? Are you saying the people with the money should give away their hard-earned money to poor people? Oh, and I have a cure for obesity... STOP EATING SO MUCH! (especially meat!)

Not all obese people over eat my liberal friend.

Q: Who paid for the Large Hadron Collider?
A: You did! But not nearly as much as your European cousins. The US contribution stands at $531 million. Total cost: $10 billion.
