We all see trash on the streets and I always like to think that perhaps the wayward litter found it's way there by accident.
But today I witnessed the most egregious case of littering I have ever seen!
I have to cross a railroad track to get to and from my house. On the way out to dinner, approaching the crossing, the lights lit up and the gates came down. A few moments later, the train engine rolled by.
While the engine was in the middle of the crossing, the train engineer, arm hanging out the window, tossed the top of a cigarette pack wrapper out the window! It landed directly in the middle of the crossing.
This was a CSX train. I live near a big CSX hub. We get a lot of CSX commercials on TV, all of them about how CSX is so "green."
If you go to the CSX website, there in big letters on the right side of the page is the phrase "Environmental Stewardship."
What kind of steward of the environment lets their employees toss crap out the window of their locomotives?
I'm sure CSX doesn't really "let" their engineers throw things out the window. But damn that is annoying.
