Power of the News

If you are watching a news channel, I would think that you would want them to give you the real deal, just the facts ma'am, the unvarnished truth.

Being a former journalist and a journalism major in college, I can tell you that the goal is to report just the facts, don't express opinions except on the opinion page, etc.

So what would you think of a news channel that provides support to political groups?

What would you think of a news channel that aired a story where the producer was in the background encouraging people at a demonstration to get louder and give the appearance of a larger, more angry group of people?

It sounds to me like that news channel has a political agenda. So how can you trust a news channel to give you the truth when they have an agenda.

They are trying to influence you, not inform you. That's not news, that's propaganda.

The news channel of which I speak is of course none other than Fox News. "Fair and Balanced." Yeah right.
