Part of being in a democracy is that you have losers. Your guy didn't win, you are the loser. Deal with it. Wait until next election and try to get enough support for your guy.
If Obama was so counter to American values, the majority of the people in the country wouldn't have elected him. Obama, being elected by the majority of US citizens, is a reflection of US values.
If you don't agree with that, you are in the minority. This country's constitution protects the masses from being ruled by the minority. Suck it up and deal with it.
If you don't want to participate in this democracy, pack your bags and go someplace where a radical conservative minority rules the country, like Iran.
As civilization advances, countries around the world that have the means realize that we must provide basic care for our sick. Much or Europe and part of North America already has. It's our turn.
This is no longer the agrarian, back woods country that Jefferson and his friends created. The good thing is that Jefferson realized it would change and he made sure the government and its constitution was flexible and that it would change as society changed.
The one thing that is not helping are the sore losers. The radical conservatives who are kicking and screaming from their defeat. People like Rep. Joe Wilson, who was so uncivilized as to disrupt a presidential address.
This is a civilized democracy. Every elected official gets his or her turn to speak. No need to interrupt someone else and turn the whole proceeding into a brouhaha.
Quit being a sore loser. Stop impeding democracy and do what you can to help the country, not drag her down with you.
10 years from now I can't wait to tell you I told you so but then again you like socialism. Joe Wilson Rules!
ReplyDeleteThis is a democracy. If the majority of the people want socialism, so be it. But Obama is a far cry from a true socialist. A true socialist not only wants to protect the poor and downtrodden, but they don't believe in capitalism. Obama is a firm believer in capitalism. He is nowhere near as "socialist" as much of Europe.
ReplyDeleteWhy do you defend this man? A sent of socialism is too much, i guess I am just old fashion. I almost feel sorry for you, really I do. You must feel guilty about having so much and others so little you want to even the playing field (ie socialism). I am proud I work hard for what I have, you can't feel sorry for everyone. Obama stand for everything I have always been told to be bad not good. The gov needs to be less not more. 10 years from now he will be the worst president the USA ever had. It will make you look forward to death.
