Even the simplest things can get messed up. Our country's founders made it real simple for us, they gave us a constitution. The first ten amendments being the bill of rights.
The preamble
"We the people" Our elected officials are suppose to represent us in the federal government so we can work our jobs and live our lives. But this representation has gone by the way side and our elected representatives push for special interests, agendas not supported by the public and anything that might help them gain in status or financially.
Why have we forgotten "We the people"
We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

It is said that if you put a frog in a cold pan and turn the heat on, he will cook. If you put him in a hot pan, he will jump out.
