It seems as ebay is not the way

Ebay has made massive changes to its fee structure causing sellers to abandon the popular online auction site. I took some time to look at ebay's rival sites, onlineauction.com and ecrater.com. I can't say that I am impressed with what I found but give them time. Their business is sure to grow. Craig's List is another free classified add site. I have sold a few items on Craig's List. It is easy to use and free. You can't blame people for wanting to make a buck but ebay is a Fortune 500 company, well at least it is for now. With some work and promotion onlineauction.com might catch up.

I have been looking to replace my worn out DSLR camera and I did turn to ebay for the new replacement. But it seems I can do better from other online stores, such as KEH.com and B&H photo video. As far as I am concerned, ebay is out. Ebay has gotten away from a bargain auction house to a place for retailers to market their crap. I have yet to buy an item from an average joe on ebay. If you were looking for a 1910 cooking pan, ebay would have it. But if you are looking for a deal on a new DSLR camera, car, TV, laptop or any home appliance ebay is not the way. Look elsewhere, I do.

  1. I agree. I generally try to avoid the commercial eBay sellers in favor of the average Joe. I was looking at cameras though, because I was thinking of getting a nice one, and all the cameras there are from the commercial sellers and way overpriced.

  2. You have come to the right place, tell me what you are looking for and I'll find the best deal! Ebay is not the answer.
