I just don't understand, Global Poverty Act of 2007 ?

Since when is it the responsibility of the United States to end world poverty? What are the leaders of these impoverished countries doing to help their people? Asking for handouts?

We are sinking into an economic nightmare ourselves, we aren't going to be able to help anyone. More homeowners are going through foreclosure now than ever before in history. So we are going to increase global spending to end world poverty?

There is no way you can convince me that we (the USA) should spend $845 billion by 2015 to reduce world poverty.

These starving, dieing sick people are not too sick and hungry to have sex are they?

It's not my fault they keep breeding, so don't punish me.

I take care of my two children, I work two and three jobs. I provide health care for them and a safe home. I do not rely on any government programs or assistance. But I also knew better than to have too many children, so as not to be able to afford to raise them. That is my responsibility as a husband and father.

Send Asia, Africa and Latin America a dictionary with the page marked and highlighted on "responsibility."

responsibility - the social force that binds you to the courses of action demanded by that force; "we must instill a sense of duty in our children"; "every right implies a responsibility; every opportunity, an obligation; every possession, a duty"- John D.Rockefeller Jr

  1. Now which is it, are you a good Christian or an American? Which one comes first? God or country?

"Jesus would be appalled by poverty this extreme, and by Christians who are indifferent to it."

    Hypocrite! This is hypocrisy!

  2. "Now which is it, are you a good Christian or an American? Which one comes first? God or country?"

Does God know these people? Have they accepted Christ as their savior?

Christian missionarys travel to these countries to help bring these people to Christ but they refuse.

It is free to grow food and learn to live off the land, we have been doing it for years. My son, a boy scout is learning to build shelters , boil water and gather foods. He is only 15.

Hypocrite, not me pal. Who is your God my friend, I know mine.

It is impossible to help those who refuse to help them selfs. They breed their poverty, they do nothing about it.

They need to learn to stop having sex, WORK to find food. Build simple shelters. Educate each other on geography.

Look at all the Vietnamese that became refuges after the war and LEFT THE COUNTRY because they knew that bad times lay ahead.

How about the Mexicans that put their lives on the line for a better life in America.

It makes no sense to put the load of the worlds hunger, wars, civil turmoil on the USA. We are not Gods!

Send them some guns to over through the government that is killing them.

Liberals always want to do feel good crap and they don't care who it hurts. WE need to keep advancing our military, purchasing new equipment for them. Pay raises, better benefits.

Send them 40 billion for condoms and we'll cut the over/inbreeding and HIV by 75%, that is if they will use the condoms.

Less mouths to feed and less disease!

  3. Many have accepted Christ. Many of these people in starving countries in Africa are Christians.

Ask yourself, "What would Jesus do in this situation?" Would he bring food even to the non-believers?

"Thus, whenever you give to the poor, do not blow a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites in the synagogues and in the streets like to do, that they may be recognized and honored and praised by men." Matthew 6:2

"Jesus answered him, If you would be perfect, go and sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have riches in heaven..." Matthew 19:21

"And Jesus, looking upon him, loved him, and He said to him, You lack one thing; go and sell all you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven" Mark 10:21

"Sell what you possess and give donations to the poor... " Luke 12:33

"But when you give a banquet or a reception, invite the poor, the disabled, the lame, and the blind." Luke 14:13

"And when Jesus heard it, He said to him, One thing you still lack. Sell everything that you have and divide among the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come back [and] follow Me." Luke 18:22

"14 What is the use, my brethren, for anyone to profess to have faith if he has no [good] works [to show for it]? Can [such] faith save [his soul]?

15 If a brother or sister is poorly clad and lacks food for each day,

16 And one of you says to him, Good-bye! Keep warm and well fed, without giving him the necessities for the body, what good does that do?" James 2:14-16

    Hypocrite! Hypocrite!
