Ah, The Wilderness

I fired up the old camp stove for a test and went whitewater rafting this weekend.

The rafting was done at ASCI in Western Maryland. That was a really good trip on one of the most amazing ideas I've seen. The "river" is entirely man-made and circular so that you raft down the rapids to the bottom and a conveyor belt carries you and your boat back up to the top.

It was like a cross between whitewater and roller coaster at the top of a mountain. I can't believe that it is one of the only courses of its kind in the world.

The camp stove test went well. I bought fuel at the dreaded Wal-Mart (no other place sells it around here!).

Now all I need to do is get back out on the bike and take a long test run. Firefighter is already way ahead of me on this. I haven't been on the bike since I said I was going to start training a week ago. It's been raining every day though.

Maybe tomorrow. There's always tomorrow.

  1. Rafting in circles! Dude I think I would give that a try. I am not a water born person!
