The Problem

The problem with some of these green freaks is they don't understand how the public can be hurt by their green way of life. Gas prices, yes the use of oil products is down and all too soon the jobs will follow. Already there is a 0.5% gain in unemployment with no end in sight to record oil prices, that 0.5% will soon grow and grow. A lot of what the US produces are petroleum based products. Everything form car tires, car seats, transportation of goods all revolve around oil. The ability for people to earn a living in the absence of oil based products is almost impossible.

This will in turn create another batch of government entitlement recipients and will put an extra load on already over burdened tax payers. Liberals might suggest college, higher educated workers makes sense. Where will they work? Who is going to pay their loans? Are we going to put the women back in the kitchen to open up more jobs for men to support their families? Not likely.

Unemployment will continue to rise, poverty will go up along with taxes. Once again the working class will come to the rescue of the poor and ignorant. There aren't to many jobs out there in conservation, jobs not funded by tax money anyway. Liberals and conservatives will suffer from joblessness. Why? Because liberal green freaks want to save the world.

Much more is at stake here, not just economic turbulence. Freedom, yes our very freedom is at risk. How you ask? I will tell you. When the general public is unable to a make choices based on what they want out of life and is forced to conform to a bare minimum standard, that is not freedom. If I can't drive a vehicle of my choice or go to a movie, fair or the hospital, there is a problem. People used to have the right to live life as they wanted but Liberal do-gooders are blocking new oil exploration. So we have to depend on overseas oil.

Oil prices are at the head of today's economic problems forcing the people of this country to choose between eating or visiting grandma on the holiday weekends. That just ain't right! Republicans in Washington wanted to open up some ground in Alaska for oil exploration but were blocked by Democrats. I don't believe that would solve the problem of over consumption but it sure would have bought us some time to find better solutions for alternative fuels and life styles. Also this would have prevented the US economy from the uncertain future we are seeing today.

Team green's poster child Al Gore is one of the worst hypocrites around, burning jet fuel and gasoline in his limo at record paces traveling the US to promote a greener planet. Makes you wonder doesn't it.

If someone doesn't find a way to prevent oil companies from raping the American people more will suffer and an end to a great nation might just be around the corner.

  1. Gee, where do I start with this one?

The "green way of life" doesn't hurt. It's cheaper, it saves money. The unemployment rate has nothing to do with the green way of life. Unemployment is caused because of poor economic policy set by the conservative administration among other things. The "green way of life" is also designed to reduced oil costs and dependence on foreign oil. By saving oil or resources in places like electricity production, heating, driving, we have it to spend on making petroleum-based products. Even better, lets look for alternatives to petroleum-based products.

Your freedom is not at risk if greens tell you what to drive. You are more than welcome to drive whatever you want. It's basic economics. You can buy whatever you can afford to drive. For those who can't afford to consume so much oil, we are just now starting to get other driving options like hybrids.

Republicans did want to open oil exploration in Alaska. But that's only because they screwed up foreign policy so bad and caused the price of oil to skyrocket. Liberals are just saying "Hey, don't come back here messing up our country just because you screwed up everyone else's country."

The Al Gore as the hypocrite is getting old. He may be using a lot of jet fuel and gas in his limos but he's spreading a good message. What about all these titans of industry who travel all over the world in their private jets and limos just so they can squeeze an extra dollar out of you. Al Gore's not asking you to buy a new Hummer or listen to the next greatest rock star. His message is simple: Consume less, spend less, preserve what's left of the planet so your future generations have somewhere to live.

Thats is the biggest load of BS I have heard in a long time. So we have to depend on over seas oil? Thats like expecting your neighbor to give you a ride to work every day so you don't have to buy a car.

Basic economics! A hybrid car cost $28,000, that buys a lot of gas for a truck I have paid off. It would be stupid for me to spend $28,000 on a vehicle get a loan and pay interest. If you spend $100 a week in gas thats $5200 a year. A hybrid SUV gets double the MPG I get in my truck so it would take 10 years to pay for it's self, plus add in interest for the loan and you are looking at 12 to 15 years. Baring it doesn't break down. Thats 15 years! Are you insane? I could buy a car less fuel efficiant for half that.

Like I was saying about volunteer firefighters, 75% of Americas firefighter/EMT's are volunteer. When your neighbor's house burns to the ground and you hear his kids screaming from inside the house, pat him on the back and say "sorry it's basic economics". At fire training tonight we all took our personal vehicles because the chief didn't want to use town ship fuel, remember we have already used our fuel budget for the year. Again "basic economics" right?

"His message is simple: Consume less, spend less, preserve what's left of the planet so your future generations have somewhere to live."

Wow he needs a jet to tell people that? Use the telephone! Much cheaper and greener.

    Basic economics!
