How out of touch is Barack Obama? (Like we didn't Know)

OMG! I could believe this when I seen it.

How out of touch is Barack Obama? He's so out of touch that he suggested that if all Americans inflated their tires properly and took their cars for regular tune-ups, they could save as much oil as new offshore drilling would produce. Gleeful Republicans have made this their daily talking point; Rush Limbaugh is having a field day; and the Republican National Committee is sending tire gauges labeled "Barack Obama's Energy Plan" to Washington reporters.

Now that is a good idea, check your tire pressure to save fuel...... OK, that will save you a ton of money. But what about all these city people who spend hours idling at traffic lights? Tire pressure isn't going to help them.

Americans have always had a love for the automobile and always will. Politicians need to understand that. The automobile isn't going to go anywhere anytime soon. Like I have said in the past, it is going to be up to the auto manufacturers to make a cleaner, more desirable vehicle, one that meets the needs (and wants) of the consumer. Sporty, fast, roomy cars. Not the little poop boxes that they are making now. Why do you think all the soccer moms want SUV's? They don't want to be stuffed in a fiberglass can fit for two midgets.

In the meantime I guess you could just check your tire pressure and vote for Obama.

Not happening...................

  1. Read the WHOLE article, dumbass.

    It goes on...

But who's really out of touch? The Bush Administration estimates that expanded offshore drilling could increase oil production by 200,000 bbl. per day by 2030. We use about 20 million bbl. per day, so that would meet about 1% of our demand two decades from now. Meanwhile, efficiency experts say that keeping tires inflated can improve gas mileage 3%, and regular maintenance can add another 4%. Many drivers already follow their advice, but if everyone did, we could immediately reduce demand several percentage points. In other words: Obama is right.

  2. Face it, America's "love" for the automobile will be over when we run out of oil.

  3. My great great great grand kids will be the ones to run out of oil, not me. Not my problem.
