My fellow blog partner is against President Obama's health care plan, often saying "I don't see anyone dieing out front of hospitals so health care is already available if you want it."
I came across an article about Obama's Labor Day speech in Ohio where he pushed the health care issue again.
At the bottom of the article was this paragraph; "Daryl Thomas, 51, a cement mixer and union member from Cincinnati, said he was impressed by the president's commitment to health-care reform. "I don't have health care right now," he said. "It's just too expensive. I'd like to see the president do something about it, and I think he will."
This is the kind of guy who needs this new health care program. He is a cement mixer and he doesn't have health care.
What happens if he gets hurt on the job and requires a hospital stay? Sure the hospital will take him in. They won't leave him bleeding on the steps.
But what happens when it comes time for him to pay the bills?
The average hospital stay is about five days. This can cost anywhere from &50,000 to $75,000. Where is a guy making $35,000 a year going to come up with that kind of money? He'll be paying that off for the rest of his life.
He is not alone. According to a Census report, 15 percent of people in the US do not have health insurance.
Sure no one is getting turned away at the hospital but you can be sure they are not getting a free stay.
I can tell stories too! I can't afford a new car, can Obama make that happen too! We should have him buy flat screen tvs for everyone, they use less electric than old sets. This would save the planet from the nonexistent global warming, right? Save the planet not bum!!! More abortion, lets kill babies!!
