Jesus Interupted

Boy, have I been slacking.  I get an email every week with the number of page visits here and for some reason this week we were the highest we've been in a while, despite not having any new posts (except Firefighter's watch).

So I've been reading the latest book by Bart Ehrman, Jesus, Interrupted: Revealing the Hidden Contradictions in the Bible (And Why We Don't Know About Them).

I've read a couple of his previous books like Misquoting Jesus: The Story Behind Who Changed the Bible and Why (Plus) and God's Problem: How the Bible Fails to Answer Our Most Important Question--Why We Suffer.

Basically what he says in all of them is that the Bible is not the inerrant word of God like many evangelical Christians seem to think.  There are all sorts of contradictions, mistakes, etc., so that Bible you read today is not the same "Bible" that early Christians read.

It has a lot of fascinating stuff in there.  Here's an interview I found online of Ehrman on the Colbert Show.
