How Clean Is Your Electricity?

In the interesting Internet finds department...

Here's a neat web site from the Environmental Protection Agency that lets you see where your electricity comes from.

It also compares it against the national average. As you can see in the graph to the left, my area uses a lot more coal than the average.

There's a couple of other things there, one of which allows you to figure out your actual emissions using your kilowatt/hours figure from your electric bills. You can also learn how to be more energy efficient (saving more money!).

  1. I have been watching G TV and I tell you what I am impressed. Did you know you could save a ton of water by buying a new cloths washer that is a front loader. It uses less water and you should only do one load of cloths a day. Also separating your trash makes a huge difference, you can recycle a ton of your trash and China buys the stuff to recycle it. Keeping your lights off when not needed and changing your light bulbs makes a difference.

All things that can save you money......
