Fun with Rednecks, with pictures!

The annual Strawberry Festival was this weekend in Newark, Ohio. These kinds of local events bring out some of the worlds finest people. These people flock to the center of town to spend their hard earned money on bull$h1t trinkets, candy, no win carnival games and poorly-maintained rides.

I took the family down for a walk around the festival. As usual, I found the entertainment lame. There was some over-played 70's bar music blaring over the speakers at the center of the festival. Of course there was your standard cotton candy stands and over priced fair food.

But no strawberries! But this was the Annual Strawberry Festival, where were the Strawberries? Further investigation (and a stop at the disgusting porta johns) and I found one, yes one, small stand selling Strawberry jam. What a crock of YA!

We started at the east side of the festival and walked all the way through right back out the way we entered. We bought NOTHING! But we did get a free Columbus Dispatch and some free info on fake tattoos and storm proof windows.

About a mile down the road we stopped at a local no name Ice Cream shop and paid six dollars for four Ice Cream Cones and read our free Columbus Dispatch on the park bench.
