I am somewhat disappointed that Furry (my old bike) is not going to make the journey but I can't pass up the comfort and handling of this Huffy. It rides much better than Furry; 184 miles is nothing to joke around with. I am ready!
I have taken the Huffy 20+ miles so far and hope to put about 100 more on her before the big one. I still have a few things I would like to do to it but as far as it stands now, she is ready.
I am still working on the whole tent thing but that's small stuff. Randy, a fellow traveler, is just about, if not already, done also. Casey, an add on to the trip, is dragging his feet. He has a bike, that's about it.
My Olympus E500 is ready to bring home some stunning images of our journey. I am also going to make a video with a small Pentax camera too. You know it will find it's way to YouTube!
Stay tuned!
I can't believe you gave up on Fury so easily! That bike had potential. I really like the rack you have on Storm. Did you make that? I may have an extra 1-man tent.
ReplyDeleteYes, I made that bad boy. I'll post some pictures of the tire and a better picture of the rack later. Also you have got to see Randy's ride. He is ready for the cross country trip. He just needs and extra 8 weeks to do it.
ReplyDeleteOK you guys with your epic Journey has made me want to get off my but and get fit... or at least go out and enjoy a ride like i used to so tonight I went to the store and bought me a new bike I plan on trying to hit the road tomorrow and seeing how far I can make it before I run out of steam.. My old bike ( an old police mountain bike) needed just about as much money dumped into it as the new one cost so I just went ahead and got one... MY kids already want to hit the trail and head somewhere on what I am sure will be some family fun so Thanks I hope I don't have to call Ya for a ride back to the truck from the gorge firefighter lol.
ReplyDeleteGood luck, we will have to hook up for a ride some day. Pace yourself!
