Life is what you make it

I am so sick of hearing people say "Life is what you make it."  The other day while sitting at the fire house, one of the guys blurted out that dreadful saying. Afterwards we shared words about it and as time passed, I thought I might be being too negative.  But because my buddy M3 introduced me to fact finding, I had to find the source of this stupid depressing and demoralizing saying.

What I found was it is an English proverb.  No known author, origin or date.  I know many people who live by this sickening proverb, most who are well to do and better off than me.  So I decided to look further and figure out how and why I have not heard this in the past.  Well it seems it was brought back to main stream America by Miley Cyrus, isn't that great.

Well, eight out of ten people can't quote the bible but they can live by song lyrics from Miley Cyrus.  What is this world coming too.  Life is not what you make it, it is how you deal with the hand you have been dealt. See I think I have made my own proverb......

I swear it just pi$$e$ me off sometimes how stupid people are, seriously.  I mean how dumb do you have to be to live by English proverbs?  Well I might as well join the crowd, I don't want be an outcast so here it goes.
