Lucky Bastard!

Seeing my fellow blogger's post trashing positive attitude reminded me of an article I read the other day about luck.

I would say that I'm a pretty lucky bastard.  I would also guess that my partner here on the blog often sees himself as unlucky.  Here's why...

A research study was completed on why lucky people are lucky and unlucky people, well, unlucky.  It seems it has a lot to do with life being what you make it.

In this article, the professor who conducted the study says that unlucky people are generally more tense and miss opportunities that us lucky people snatch up.

More importantly though, he says that lucky people tend to have positive expectations.  In another version of the article (the first one I read which I can no longer find), they said that lucky people still have "bad luck" but they are more optimistic about it than those unlucky folks.

They also mention how luck is largely a self-fulfilling prophesy, i.e. if you think bad, bad things happen, and vice versa.

So I guess life really is what you make it, and as the infamous jailbait hussy says, let's make it right!
